We cordially invite all qualified individuals to send their original works under two categories:

category A for original literary works (poetry, short fiction, creative nonfiction, or other hybrid forms written in Filipino, English, or any regional language with a corresponding Filipino or English translation); and

category B (painting, photography, print, sculpture, performance, design, hypermedia (web-based works) or new media forms for original visual works).

 

Here are the general submission guidelines for the literary submissions (Category A):

  • Original works should not have been published anywhere
  • For submissions in poetry, an individual writer may send [2-3] original poems, in a single-spaced document
  • For submissions in short fiction, creative nonfiction, or hybrid works, a writer can send only one submission that does not exceed a [5,000] word-count in a double-spaced document. Word-count for the translations accompanying a work in the regional language is not counted in this [5,000]-word limit.
  • Manuscripts are written in Arial or Times New Roman font types, with font size 12, unless the submission is a hybrid work that requires special formatting
  • Send your submissions as file attachments (.doc or .docx) with the subject line [Full Name_Genre_Title of Work] to .
  • Do not indicate your full name or any identifying mark on the attached manuscript; instead, affix name and place of residence in the body of e-mail.

 

Here are the general submission guidelines for the visual arts submissions (Category B):

  • Original works should not have been published anywhere
  • For submissions in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional media, a full-color, high-quality resolution (300 dpi, .TIFF, CMYK) image should be submitted.
  • For three-dimensional and durational works, multiple images should be submitted to show multiple views, sections of the still or moving image.
  • For submissions in hypermedia, a smart code should be provided that is linked to the web-published page or drive.
  • Provide the following in detail: work’s title, dimensions, medium, year created and providence (current owner)
  • Send your submissions as file attachments or cloud drive link (make sure you include the email: for access) the subject line [Full Name_Visual Expression_Title of Work] to .
  • Accompanying text description should be provided. The write-up should describe the concept and how the material relates to it as well as some background in production. Limit the text to 300-500 words max.

 

Qualifications:

Prospective featured writers and artists should be citizens of the Philippines;

Individual literary arts and visual arts practitioners based in the Cordilleras working on themes with Cordilleran narrative and issues.

 

The Deadline for submissions will be on May 5, 2021, 11:59 PM.  The announcement of results will be on May 15, 2021.
